Tell us your activity and we will set out the route, what we handle from Doha and what needs a licensed Omani firm.
In most activities, yes. The Foreign Capital Investment Law, issued by Royal Decree 50/2019 and in force since January 2020, allows up to 100% foreign ownership. Some activities are reserved and closed to foreign investors, so the first check is whether your exact activity is on that list.
Commercial registration runs through the platform of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion. Capital requirements, fees and the reserved list can change and vary by activity, so they need to be checked for your activity at the time you apply. We do not quote a general figure here for that reason.
Oman applies VAT at 5%. Your VAT position depends on what you sell and to whom, and we can advise on it alongside any business you already run in Qatar or elsewhere in the Gulf.
Auditment is based in Doha. Some work, such as structure planning, accounting set-up and VAT advice, can be handled from here. An Omani statutory audit or a licensed local filing needs a firm licensed in Oman, and we will tell you plainly which parts of your project fall into that group before you commit.
No obligation. We reply with the route that fits your activity.
